Yikes, so it's been a while. Kind of been sucked into the end-of-the-semesteritis that's sort of taking over the whole campus. I've been channeling all of my procrastinating energy into scrolling through Tumblr and taking random mall trips (because I'm actually 13 -__-) but anyway, I scored an adorable (albeit fake) turquoise cross bracelet at Burlington Coat Factory. I'm not usually a fan of their clothes because of the quality but I saw this in a set for until $7.00 and just had to get it:

It's gonna be a bit of a short post today, but I have rediscovered this adorable cover of Donna Lewis' 1996 pop hit "I Love You Always Forever" by Jukebox The Ghost. Check it out and just try to not be put in a good mood.

Happy Monday!

Eep! So it's actually one of the first nice spring days we've been having around here. The weather is actually supposed to go up to about 65° so needless to say, I'm extremely excited. I thought I'd dress for the occasion (yes, occasion; this is like a holiday for me):

Denim shirt: American Eagle, pink tank: Forever21, floral skirt: Forever21, tights: can't remember :/, oxfords: DSW

I absolutely love spring, and can't begin to gush enough that its finally here. On another note, I thought I'd share my latest thrift store find. It's a great little green printed dress I found while sifting through the Salvation Army in Oneonta. I was actually surprised at how good of condition it was in, as some of the stuff can kind of be hit or miss. It was a bit shrunken on the bottom portion, but nothing too noticeable. And at $3.99, who could care?

The print is a little kooky, but that's what I absolutely adore about it. I've already wore it once to a friends birthday party with a great little brown cinching belt I found years ago, and at the same Salvation Army.

Hope you guys all get to go outside today!

Welcome!

Hey there! This is the first post to kind of mark my revamping of this blog. I'm still working on some things and making some minor adjustments, so bear with me while I go through this transition. I'm hoping to have this blog dedicated to just what the subtitle says, "thoughts, beauty, inspirations" - this is, after all, a place for me to share any interesting finds I may come across that I hope you all are interested in too! Feel free to take a look around at what is here though, and thanks for stopping by!

Aside from jump starting this blog again, I happened to come across another blast from the (not so far away) past; The film, The Notorious Bettie Page starring Gretchen Mol as the icon herself made its way to my procrastination arsenal today. I'm glad I did take the time to watch it though, as it highlights some of the major life events of one of my biggest style icons, Bettie Page.

The film, released in 2005, portrays Page's rise to stardom in the 1950s as a pin-up and fetish model, from her humble origins to her unfortunate experiences with mental illness. It has an interesting approach, changing from black and white to color to mirror Page's story. Not to mention, the clothes and styling are just fabulous!

I thought that Mol did a wonderful job of capturing someone with so much fragility, yet so much fierceness. She really seemed to make Page come alive, while still keeping her character remote and iconic - something I sometimes value in a biopic about a starlet. It's almost as if we were there as admirers of her at the time. It even made me rethink that adorable black pencil skirt and cardigans I've acquired from various friends, and how I could work a little of Page's look into my own style. Though I can't make any promises of living up to something like this!

I'm just happy enough if I can do my eyeliner in a straight line...
